Why You Should Implement Reading In Your Routine….
Everybody has routines in their life, whether they are beneficial or not.
Some of us find ourselves mindlessly scrolling through our phones upon waking up or staying up late into the night binge-watching TV shows.
While these habits may momentarily satisfy our desires and cater to our laziness, they do little good for us in the long run
If we continue indulging in these activities without purpose, they can accumulate into a dark void of wasted time, leaving us with regretful thoughts.
We must become intentional with our time and seek out habits that benefit us both in the short and long term.
Don’t live that regret and take the step now.
I mentioned how important it is to accompany consistency in any habit with deliberate practice.
However, One important action to enrich your day is to: Read.
This interesting activity, that we conduct every day in our life, whether that be reading social media posts, comments on YouTube or reading new article notifications.
There are Words always around us.
By spending time reading, we allow ourselves to be captivated and inspired.
Reading can take you through an adventure of experiencing different perspectives of life by taking you to places you haven’t been or to people you haven’t met.
Through the stories, lessons, emotions, and struggles of others, we gain valuable insights. It broadens our horizons, challenging our existing ideas and beliefs
It opens up our perspective on different ideas that we might have not considered.
Through this, it can adjust our thinking alongside our behaviour and actions, which encourages us to change our trajectory in life.
It gives us inspiration, motivation and to look at things from a different angle.
As we grow older, we don’t begin to look at the world around us the same.
Why?
Because we acquire new knowledge, experiences, interactions, frameworks, and mindsets.
It’s kind of looking at those optical illusions — the “once you see it, you can’t unsee it” images.
Like Rubin’s Vase illusion.
It opens your eyes to the fact that your knowledge is continuously evolving and developing.
To implement a daily reading routine in your life
- Try to find a time of the day that best suits you — whether that is in the morning, before lunch or before sleeping.
- Carry a pencil or write down your notes when you are engaging with the material to not consider it a chore.
- Try joining a book club or having a discussion about concepts that you read in the book with others.
Remember, that reading is a skill that requires patience and practice. However, once you begin to see the benefits of it, you are happy that you spend your time wisely.
So, why not embark on this literary adventure and discover the hidden gems waiting to inspire you?
