Harness Self-Reflection To Empower Change
Have you ever experienced yourself being frustrated with being lazy or wasting time?
This is a daily struggle we have to deal with everyday.
Those nagging thoughts are the signs of frustration we feel when our bad habits take over.
Whether it’s going on our phone in bed, overeating, or getting lost in the depths of social media, the list seems endless.
But here’s the thing:
we need to have an honest conversation with ourselves.
We must explore the measures we can take to break free from these patterns.
Question yourself on this.
Are we solely relying on willpower?
Are we just going to say the same thing as yesterday “Tomorrow we be the day I change” but you don’t?
Or are we simply waiting for things to magically improve on their own?
It’s like being in a cold house with an open window, hoping it’ll get warmer soon without taking any action.
Would we expect a different response if we didn’t do anything about it?
Seldom.
To bring about change in our lives, we must reflect.
Let’s take an example: feeling inadequate in math.
When faced with this challenge, we often assume the problem lies in our lack of intelligence or talent.
Consequently, we may give up without implementing a strategy for improvement.
By taking the approach of identifying the specific topics or question types we struggle with, understanding the underlying theories, or simply practicing more.
we can gradually observe an enhance in our mathematical abilities.
Sometimes, our skewed perspectives limit us from reaching our true potential and discourage us from taking steps toward developing new skills.
Whether it’s expanding our vocabulary, honing coding skills, writing more effectively, or improving our communication, being self-reflective is crucial.
By taking the time to reflect, we can gain a clearer understanding of ourselves and our goals.
Consider asking questions such as:
What aspects of my vocabulary need improvement?
Do I need to learn more words? Should I read more to enhance my ability to recall new words?
Self-reflection is the starting point of a transformative journey, and the possibilities it holds are endless.
So, don’t allow yourself to become absent-minded in your daily activities. Take time out to reflect.
Though it may feel counterproductive initially, introspection allows you to take a step back before moving several steps forward.
Thats all for today, but remember when you begin to question yourself, you will see that to lead to more questions that can open your perspective to different approaches and strategies to deal with your struggle.
